Has anyone been induced using Dilapan?

Just wondering if there are any ladies who have been induced using Dilapan? I have been told I will induced using the rods but can’t seem to find anything online other than the manufacturers blurb.
Interested to know how long it took from start to finish, if you could go home etc.
I have gestational diabetes and on insulin and not sure if they will allow me home with this method.
Thanks all x

Following! I saw a similar thread back in July so hopefully those mums can report back. Thank you!

@AnnieMacnee seems like it’s rare or to new as no one seems to be replying with their experiences. When are you being induced? X

Would love to hear your experiences if you had this in the end?

I had Dilapan back in February. I was 2 weeks overdue, had 2 sweeps and had a lot of shows but unfortunately no labour! I was due to go home after having them put in but baby’s heart rate plummeted when I was being monitored (it did stabilise) and so I had to stay in. About 4 hours after having them put in I started getting cramps, 12 hours after having them put in I was having regular contractions. 16 hours after having them put in the contractions were between 60-90 seconds each and I was only getting around 40 second gaps in between them! The hospital was so busy and so I was having to labour in a bay with no pain relief and the pain was unbearable.
I had the Dilapan taken out 16 hours after having them put in and I was 4 cm. Another 3 hours passed and a room became available and I finally got an epidural. 3 hours later I was 11cm! So for me it did send me in to full blown labour (baby born 23 hours after having Dilapan inserted) - or my body could have been about to go into labour, I’ll never know. But it all progressed really quickly and I didn’t need my waters broken or the hormone drip which was a relief. The process of having them put in was quite uncomfortable, having them taken out was really painful as one was stuck - but at this point I was in really painful labour so that probably didn’t help!
Hope that helps x
