Has anyone been able to tell which way up baby is?!?
I’ve looked at baby mapping and still no clue, I can’t tell what’s a kick and what’s a punch!

Baby was definitely head down around 30 weeks as midwife confirmed and I could feel his head on my pelvic bone. Last appointment mw thinks he’s breech.
I get some kicks or punches low down in my pelvis and sort or around my belly button. He’s low down but the pressure is sort of resting on my pelvis rather than engaging which makes me think he’s bottom down.

I can feel a hard sticky out bit which moves around under my ribs a lot but can’t tell if it’s head or bum!

I know there’s still plenty of time for him to turn but I think he’s running out of room!

Hi @dinosaur17 I'm 36 weeks and have been having growth scans which have also picked up that baby is breech. Meanwhile, I've had a few midwife appointments where multiple midwives have thought baby was head down. I'm a FTM and didn't feel baby move from head down (as he was at earlier scans) to breech but that may have been because he moved whilst still quite small. Now I've seen the scans and he's got bigger it seems to make sense that what I can feel just under my ribs is his head.

@christmasbox I’m sure he’s still breech and can’t turn, he sort of moves side to side but can’t really seem to get round the right way.
Have you been advised what your next steps are yet? My worry is that my next appointment they think he’s head down but I’m sure he’s not x

I was told he was unlikely to move now and asked if I'd thought about what I wanted to do next. I said I wasn't keen on them trying the ecv procedure to try to manually move him and that I would prefer to opt for c section - that's totally personally preference, but they did also advise me that as he was on the small side they didn't want to try anything that would put him under stress. I think if I was earlier on in pregnancy then I might have looked at some of the suggestions on the spinning babies website to encourage him to move. Sorry I'm not sure if this is helping.

@christmasbox I’ve had a look at the ECV and chatted to other half about it. I’m a nurse and I think I probably overthink all this sort of stuff! But of he’s still bum down when I see the midwife I think I’ll decline the ecv as well and go straight to the section as well. I just think the odds aren’t good enough to attempt it as far as I’m concerned and I kind of think leave him be, if he had the space to turn I’m sure he’d have done it!

I wouldn't worry about no room when I was pregnant with twins dt2 turned around at 36 weeks (I delivered at 37 weeks).

MammaBear18 · 30/01/2021 13:39

I'm nearly 37 weeks and mine is breech after previously being head down 🙄 I can definitely feel the head underneath my ribs to the side of the belly button - it feels really solid and hard. Some kicks low in the pelvis/cervix too. I get the side to side movement too so I don't think she's got enough room to move now!

dinosaur17 · 30/01/2021 16:08

@MammaBear18 I’m the same, have this really hard lump under my ribs but I think he’s sort of side on. I get lots of movement low down below my belly button and kicks in my pelvis. I can’t imagine their punches as I’m not sure if his arms would reach that far!

I’m also really breathless now from having something wedged in my ribs, where as when he was engaged before my bump is low.
