Can anyone tell me their experience? I started having pain yesterday evening but haven't started my period yet. Not sure if my period is about to start or if the pain is something else

I've just had my first period after a CS 13 months ago. It was pretty painful but I've stopped bleeding after 2 days and didn't have any clots (sorry if that's tmi).
I think it was more painful than usual but I've had 2 kids within 2 years so haven't had loads of periods the past 4 years....but I remember they used to last 4 days
I did have pains on and off for the last few months and did think it might be starting up again but I'd no pains this time until I started to spot

I think it depends when you had your section... My first period (4 months after section) was pain free, and periods have been pain free since, whereas pre-labour and section they were painful(lucky me I guess!). However, I did have some mild period pain in the build up, but I recognised it as period pain iyswim. I also had light pink/brown spotting.
Any other pains can just be your scar healing, as the nerves start to knit again; this took me by surprise about 5 months post section. You need to trust your instincts really- check your scar, is it hot/angry etc, does the pain feel 'crampy' or is your brain telling you that something isn't quite right, and get GP advice if you're still worried.

Mine was 12 weeks after. Not painful and not that heavy. I've now been waiting 6 weeks for my second.

I had mine 4 months after my emcs. A bit less painful than it used to be but had lost much more blood (which apparently is normal).
Was bfing so expected it would take longer for it to be back but it didn’t :/

5 weeks after my ELCS. It was pandemonium for the first day or two but then calmed down.

6 weeks after and the stomach cramps were intense, made me feel like I was going to throw up all day. Even got my mum over to help look after bubba, I felt so rough. Second period was business as normal.

Should also say I got the cramps a day and a half before the actual period

Mine didn’t start again until I stopped breastfeeding at 10 months, and I had no cramps at all and no PMT, unlike before. However they were so heavy, I’ve had four now and each time the first 48 hours is a bloodbath
