Hey all,

I'm pregnant with my 2nd with only few weeks to go before the big day. I had my first child some 14 years ago, and wanted to hear about others' birth experience with similar gaps? Word is, after such a long time, the body forgets and it'll feel like a first Labour?

Comments appreciated 😊

I had 9years between my first and second, small between 2&3 and nearly 9years between 3 and 4.

Number 1 was induced at 42wks, back to back, didn't turn or descend, and was delivered in theatre by ventouse. Pretty shit.

Dc2 I was pretty nervous, not only that my body wouldn't remember but also it hadn't managed to do it the first time. Thankfully DC2 was my only spontaneous labour at 40+9, standard delivery and 6hrs of active labour (longer in total but totally manageable until active labour)

DC 4 was induced at 40wks due to size and whilst it took a while to get the induction started, was 4hrs of active labour where the baby descended and by the time they checked was inches and a push or two from being born.

I just had my son 18 years after my daughter. Definitely felt like first time round again although I was only 18 myself first time so inexperience then might have been a key factor.
