Very different early labour signs?

Were your early labour signs vastly different between dc 1&2?

Due my second any day now. I woke up this morning from 2-5am with very very mild period type pains which have since faded. I've had this horrible restless excited feeling all day but no more contraction type sensations.

With my first I started contracting in the morning, had the show and waters broke and didn't stop contracting until I had dc in the evening, it was all go.

I'm interested to hear if anyone had very different early signs...the anticipation has got me on edge!

dc1 - I woke up a couple of hours after going to sleep, went for a wee, then had a contraction that took my breath away. Contractions just carried on like that every 10 - 15mins for hours and hours.

dc2 - only a day after my due date, was sitting in the evening watching TV and it occurred to me this very mild (no pain) "feeling" in my tummy was regularly coming and stopping then almost fluttering then stopping in a regular pattern. No pain. No doubling over. no breathlessness. We only responded as we knew my Mum would need advance notice to come and look after dc1 and wanted to catch her before she went to bed so she could sleep at ours incase we did need to go in the night. Couldn't have been more different though in terms of lack of certainty and lack of pain.
