ELCS - what to wear post surgery?

I had an EMCS and can't for the life of me remember what I wore after the section?

I plan to breastfeed and so will want something that I can have lots of skin to skin initially and will have a catheter but am struggling to remember at what point I was no longer in a gown or how it all worked?

Anyone had a section recently and can offer any advice?

Not recent but I remember! Big, big knickers that go above the scar line. I liked ones with a slight support to stop me feeling like my insides were going to fall out Grin
High waisted joggers e.g. yoga pants or maternity PJ's/leggings for the same reason. Everything in dark colours. Flip flops/slides for the shower when you can get there. A cotton gown if you have one or a lightweight cardie. Loose easy tops for feeding.

First day you have a pad to lie on because of the catheter so you stay in gown or change to a night shirt. They try and whip it out fairly quick though, basically as soon as you can stand up to go to the loo (within 24 hours). Maybe same day if you have an early section. Good luck Smile

PS planned sections are really nice, calm civilised affairs. Totally different to an EMCS.

Huge knickers (I lived in disposables for weeks!)
Some loose strappy nighties that fit over the bump

I wore my maternity leggings mostly - ASOS ones, which were nice and baggy over my scar. On top I wore button-down pajama tops.
