ELCS or natural birth?

I'm 32weeks with my first DD. I have a history of back pain and had spinal surgery 2 years ago, which left me with nerve damage and took a lot of physio to feel 'normal' again, I'm very worried a natural birth could put undue pressure on my back and cause the pain and side effects (leg & vaginal numbness and incontinence) to return. I'm tempted to ask for a c-section to minimise risks of this, obviously there are risks to that as well but they are a little more controlled. All opinions/advice welcome!

I think you need to ask your midwife to refer you to a consultant so they can advice on the risks to your back and spine. Have you talked about your concerns with your midwife?

@Ella32 I've spoken with the anaesthesiologist regarding epidurals &spinal blocks and due to see the obstetrician in a couple of weeks. I'm worried I've left it all a bit late- times flown by and now I feel a bit stupid for not thinking about it sooner!

That's great, well done for arranging to see someone, it's definitely not too late.
