meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

look at the www.doula.org.uk and www.nurturingbirth.co.uk sites for details of recognised training courses.

anyone can be a doula, but if you do a course recognised by doula uk, you have access to their forum, and can be listed on their find a doula service..

i think a passion for helping other women have a positive and empowering experience of childbirth is the one thing you need !

if you search the archives on here, there is loads about becoming a doula.

i love it, have been doing it since feb, and just had my 4th client.. it is so wonderful and rewarding. emotional, tiring and fantastic! i also got involved at my local hospital so that i got to meet head of midwifery etc.. which has made it less overwhelming, as i did not walk in as a stranger when i did my first birth there.

I'm trying..... I haven't been able to get to a course yet, but I have my first client in Jan.

Echo Lulu's advice, Doula UK and then come back on here where there's lots of brains to pick!
