Not healing - 12 weeks

I am now 12 weeks pp and I am still really red where I tore (2nd degree).
I’ve been to the docs and am on antibiotics but they don’t seem to be working.
Doc says if they don’t work I will have to be restitched :’( has this happened to anyone else?
I feel broken and worry I’ll never recover.

It took me ages to heal and in the end was referred to a gynaecologist. Where upon I got prescribed some estriol cream and things have really improved. I am not sure why GP couldn’t just have prescribed - it’s worth asking.

I hope things improve for you.

How many weeks along were you when you got referred?
I really hope they try all options before trying restitching!

The same as you 12 weeks but didn’t get seen until 4.5 months. Keep on at the docs ring first thing tomorrow - it’s too painful to live with. I couldn’t sit on the floor or chair without a cushion - making time spent on floor with my DS really hard.

I feel like the antibiotics have helped with the pain with sitting, but at this rate I don’t think I’ll ever be able to have sex with my husband again.
I have one week of antibiotics left then will call the docs to get referred

Have your thyroid function checked. Delayed healing can be a symptom of hypothyroidism.

Sorry you are having such a hard time. It’s not normal not to heal. Don’t let the gp fob you off. You need proper blood tests not a sticking plaster.
