Ballon Induction after a section

Hi All

I go into hospital in exactly 1 day to be induced. I'm so scared... il be induced using the ballon method? Due to having a previous section.. Has anyone had this before? What's your story? I'm even more nervous that I will have to be alone until I'm in active labour!

I did have a sweep done about a week ago but I was only 1cm then.. really hoping this induction goes well..

Thanks

I had the balloon induction following a csection and it was great! It was uncomfortable but not painful to have put in (they gave me gas and air to relax but I hadn’t got the hang of using it by then!)
They planned to keep it in for 12 hours then take out and try and break my waters and then maybe use the drip. However it worked so well it actually fell out after 3 hours as it had caused me to dilate to 4cm already! I then had a few hours of contractions and an hour or two of pushing and the baby arrived! I loved the fact it wasn’t hormonal and a bit more natural method of induction. I’m planning another Vbac and wouldn’t hesitate to have it again. (Obviously id rather go into labour naturally!)
Any questions please ask - I was so nervous beforehand and struggled to find anyone who’d had it (even some midwives hadn’t heard of it!)

Ps I was also alone until I was in active labour just as I sent my husband home to get a good nights sleep as we didn’t expect any action until 11am the next morning! But he got amazing urgent call back at 3am!

Oh wow that's such a positive story! That's given me a little bit of hope. I have been told the exact same thing that it can take up to 12 hours to work and then they will break my waters..

I'm hoping that it will work just as fast as yours did.. was you able to move around when you had it in? Did you start to contract as you was dilating or was it after it fell out?

Thanks
