Two weeks post section. Waiting on hospital calling back but they mentioned I might have to go in. I'm an hour away.

Should I pack a bag? Will they keep me? They said a pph? Was the concern.

I had a pph 4 weeks after my vaginal birth. Had very heavy bleeding and large clots all of a sudden. Had to have a d and c to remove retained placenta, had to stay in for 2 nights.
Yes do pack a bag i assume baby is going too? Good luck

I went by ambulance but i did lose a huge amount of blood. I passed out when the paramedics were getting me ready to leave the house so good job they were there.

Ok so maybe I will be ok here. I had a big bleed about three and soaked a pad. Then ok. Then at five changed two pads soaking in a few minutes. Slowed now but was a gush and very heavy. I didn't pass out. Have a headache.

You should lie down so it doesnt gush again. It sounds like something is not right. Dont let the hospital fob you off, i remember when i got to hospital it had calmed down and i could hear the doctor whispering to a nurse that it could be a first period after childbirth! Well he was wrong it was retained placenta.

User27aw · 02/01/2021 13:13

How are you now @icedaisy?

icedaisy · 02/01/2021 15:40

@User27aw thank you. Just home. Iron low, some blood clots showing on scan. Antibiotics and painkillers and monitor at home.

Thinks worst of it came away last night. Not placenta but product?

Feel better for being seen.

I also had a pph 9 days after birth and ended up in ICU. Don't hesitate to go back if you are at all worried!

Thats good news, glad you are ok. As pp said don't hesitate to go back if it starts again. Xx
