no idea, but how do you do the TM thing??

IntergalacticWarlock · 24/10/2007 19:39

That's exactly what I came on to ask, LM

IntergalacticWarlock · 24/10/2007 19:40

In answer to your question hot choc, I saw these in a catalogue the other day, and to be honest, after both of my CSs, I doidn;t want anytning NEAR my scar. I wore mahoosive granny pants in a size 20 (am normally sixe 12-14, they kept fallinmg down) and lots of skirts

Lulumama · 24/10/2007 19:45

granny pants are the best .. ethel austin pants in a mahoosive size were glorious

enough lycra to hold belly in and up round your belly button so no chance of them cutting into the scar area.

also, you will have staples in for a while and be tender, sore and bloated, so i would think that keeping the area covered and supported is good, but the belt looks bulky, and very close to the scar area.

my top tip is arnica and lying down as much as possible

hadn't even noticed the tm bit - i cut and pasted the name of the item from the website!! gosh you lot are on the ball...

I didn't feel the need for a belt - agreed wanted to keep anything away from scar. If have to have second CS I hadn't thought it was something I should have had last time unlike... Arnica. Keep hearing about it but no idea what it is or how it helps? Is it a pill or cream?
(sorry if seems like a hijack, but thought any post-CS info might be useful for OP if CS is likely/planned)
Thanks

Lulumama · 24/10/2007 19:53

arnica pillules, from boots, cannot remember doasge , took them after c,s and after VBAC ad they really helped re bruising and swelling

screamsprout · 24/10/2007 19:53

Arnica pills. Start taking them when you go into labour or a couple of days before the op (depending on how much notice you have of a c-section!).

Won't necessarily have staples, I had stiches but either way, I don't think I would have wanted a belt. My instinct with a wound that big is not to cover it with a belt!

Racers · 24/10/2007 20:11

ok will get some arnica nearer the time as sounds like useful for whether I end up with CS or VBAC. Thanks

mrsshackleton · 25/10/2007 13:38

Bought one for my elective in May, wore it twice (if that) and then never again, it was bulky under my clothes and I just couldnt be bothered to put it on - the idea was it would prevent my toddler kicking my wound but your instinct makes you dodge a toddler's kick pretty fast. Have to say, I took arnica and not sure it made any difference either but so many people do recommend it ... Good luck!
