Forcep ladies

Hello! I gave birth via forceps 12 weeks ago. Whilst all has been good at the front I'm becoming concerned with the horrific pain whilst having my bowels opened (TMI I know but I need to know if this is normal?!)

Has been uncomfortable since day one but it's getting much much worse as time goes on it's pretty unbearable now to the point I'd rather not eat.

Is this normal for all those who have had forceps?

Not normal at all. I've had 2 forceps deliveries. You must see your GP

Agony? Like you're passing glass? It might be a fissure, I had one after my forceps delivery. Huge sympathies... Pain was like nothing else. No advice really - it went away on its own in the end. But def worth a visit to your gp if getting worse.

Definitely not what I experienced. As far as I can tell, apart from possibly being a bit more bruised, my recovery was the same as anyone else I knew who had a normal delivery with an episiotomy (and I was in slow labour for two days, full on labour for 14 hours, and then the second stage for 4.5 hours) . I felt basically back to normal in about four weeks. Speak to your GP.

Mine was painful at first, but gradually got better. I think if it's getting worse it needs checking out. Good luck and hope you get it sorted - I found this bit worse than the birth!

I've had innumerable issues following a forceps delivery. Unfortunately very common. Not normal though.

If it feels like you're passing glass then it may well be a fissure. I developed one after a forceps delivery and it was miserable. You need to see your GP. Thanks
