Wrong name birth certificate

Hi

My middle name has been spelt wrong on the birth certificate of my new little girl (one letter difference - Denise instead of Denice) Hmm

Is this important and does it need changing as it's just the middle name? I know they charge you to change any details and we've just had her registered.

Thanks!

Tbh as the normal spelling is Denise Then I would leave it as it is if you are not too fused about it.

This happened to me (thanks DH Hmm) and I got it corrected as it would have been problematic applying for baby's passport when my name on his birth certificate was not the same on my passport. It was more than one letter though. I had to make an application to the central registry office and they basically reissued the birth certificate with a note at the bottom saying that the mother's name had been corrected on the register from X to Y.

Sorry, thought you meant your dd’s name had been spelt wrong. If it’s your name that’s spelt wrong I would definitely get it changed.

Yes they will query this when you apply for her passport, best to get it corrected now.
