I'm 6 weeks postpartum and started what midwife said was my period 5 days ago it's very heavy and I'm passing clots today ive been passing more and just had one the size of half golf ball

Is this normal bit scared and should my bleeding still be full force in thought it would die down by now

All advice be great

@Lily189 i didn’t start my period so soon but huge clots are normal. The bleeding comes and goes and is more when you do more effort.
I wouldn’t worry but if you feel dizzy call a doctor.

I was heavier with my first baby for several weeks, then it would stop but then start here and there for a few days. Second baby similar experience, but lighter and shorter overall. If you’re breastfeeding I don’t think you would have a period but I may be wrong. I didn’t have one for the whole time inbreastfed

I had my first period at 6 weeks pp as well, huge clots, very very heavy for about 10 days and then it went to a "normal" bleed. I was having to go to the loo every 1.5-2 hours to sort myself out. It was grim. But nothing since then and now 5 months pp!

You posted about this yesterday I think, please get yourself checked as per my previous post could be infection in womb and retained clots x
