Bruised/swollen/heavy/pressure post birth

Hi,

Looking for any similar experiences.

I am 7 days post birth with a little boy. I've had this feeling that something is in my vagina opening when I walk it feels uncomfortable rather then painful.

I've had 2 midwives check this and they've both said they can't see anything 'coming out' as I describe to indicitate a prolapse and that it will just be the swelling and bruising I'm feeling.

What did your swelling feel like? Did it feel like a heaviness in your vagina? How long did it take you before you couldn't feel the bruising again? Most websites say about 4 weeks where it doesn't feel like you've been kicked in the vagina by a horse ha ha

Thank you :)

It could well be the swelling that is causing that sensation. Mine felt soooo heavy afterwards and it would get worse when I took the dog for a walk around the block. I would return home and whip my knickers off and sit with an ice pack on it because it was so swollen and heavy and I too felt like something was just inbetween my legs!! It did get better and once it started to heal it healed really quick - it was just the waiting to get to that stage!
Hope you have a speedy recovery xx

@BeautyAndTheBump1 that is so reassuring thank you! Funny that I didn't believe a midwife ha ha I just didn't know if I was being conned or whether other people felt the same. When did you feel somewhat normal again? X

I had swelling that felt similar, it got better after day 16 or so, I had episiotomy with its of stitches. I also have a mild recrocele that I don't have symptoms for. No one mentioned it to me so far, 4w post partum and waiting for GP checks.
