Heavy bleeding advice please

I'm 6 weeks after birth and started my first postpartum period on Sunday so this is day 4 and it's still really heavy red blood and clots still
Is this normal and how long will it last

All advice be great please my gp and midwife said it's ok

I remember posting pretty much exactly the same when I had my first period. I had to use maternity pads because it was sooo heavy and I was filling them so fast. I was also told it was normal - and I'm still here to tell the tale so
I also lost 4lbs after that period and alot of jiggle in my tummy went.

I've never had heavy periods but Jesus that first one after birth, I leaked out of many pads even after only an hour of wearing! My first period lasted 5 days, and It settled down after the first one though and the second period was much better! X

It was heavy for all 5 days yeah, and then it just suddenly disappeared hopefully won't be much longer for you x
