Would this be breaking lockdown rules?

Hello,

I have never posted a question before so hope this is in the right place!

I live with my partner and 4 year old daughter in an area that is an hours drive from any family. I am 31 weeks pregnant and we are trying to plan for the new arrival.

Would it be OK for my sister to drive (and probably stay over) when I go into labour/hospital to look after my daughter? She is not in my support bubble. We can’t think of anyone else as the Grandparents are vulnerable. We are not sure if there is any other option, is it classed as a caring responsibility?

Hoping things relax a little when the time comes though.

Many thanks

Yes, childcare is exempt from the rules

Early years settings can remain open. Parents are able to form a childcare bubble with another household for the purposes of informal childcare, where the child is 13 or under. As above, some households will also be able to benefit from being in a support bubble, which allows single adult households to join another household

Just ask yourself WWCD? What would Cummings do? He wouldn’t think about this twice, so just do it as it is the safest option for your family.

Yes this would be okay. I had a similar situation back in March. My sister came to look after my DD while I gave birth. It's exceptional circumstances.

You're able to go into a supermarket full of strangers so I wouldnt even think twice about it tbh.

Yes this is totally fine. If you get fined I will personally pay it for you. I am so sorry people have to worry about such things.
