I have been having squeezy sensations in my tum on and off for a week and regularly since Saturday lunchtime with an upset tum (if you know what I mean)how do you know what is prelabour and what are Braxtons and whats the difference? Very confused!

IME, labour (not sure what you mean by pre-labour) starts when you begin to have regular, fairly frequent (10mins?) apart contractions, which feel less like Braxton's and more like low-down period pains.

Good luck!

they're pretty similar. WIth my first pregnancy I got runs of braxton hicks every evening for about a week before I actually went into labour. The only reason I knew it wasn't labour was because I'd get them about every ten minutes or so for a while and then they'd go away. and they never got any stronger.

I went to bed one evening with them and woke up about 2 hours later getting them more strongly and more frequently and it kept increasing, so knew it was the real thing.

Thank you! I was having the Braxtons every evening over the last week, now it's every 10mins for the last 2 days! Geting used to it and ignoring it, but some feel like being winded, oof!

Early labour pains were much lower down for me too - like period pains both front and back. Braxton didn't hurt per se, more like being winded as you said.
