What have everyone's experiences in childbirth been during this pandemic? I'd love to know how it went for other mums, hopefully some of your stories will put my mind at ease. This is my second baby and she's due in under 2 weeks!!

My labour didn't quite go to plan and I ended up having a c section but the hospital I was at were amazing.
The midwives and doctors were just incredible.
I had an induction- a 24 hour pessary and DH wasn't allowed in until I was in established labour so I spent over 24 hours alone, which was horrible.
Once in the delivery suite, DH was with me throughout everything and the midwives and doctors looked after him so well.
Overall my experience of the staff and hospital was amazing. It was just my actual labour that wasn't great, but everything turned out alright in the end.
DH was allowed to stay for 1 hour in recover after my section and then had to leave.

The hospitals near me are still allowing one visitor during labour and the normal visiting hours on the ward. It didn't really make any difference in my case as I didn't want a whole crowd of visitors anyway. It seems to vary by hospital.

I had an ELCS. DH was allowed in with me in the morning and in theatre as normal. He had to leave when we were moved from recovery to the ward, which was a bit miserable. But at that point (July) my hospital were allowing one visit of an hour a day, in pre bookable slots, so he was able to come back that afternoon. I stayed two nights and he was able to come for the hour each day, including first thing on the day we got home. He then picked us up at the door.

The staff were incredible, obviously with a section I needed help with lifting and changing the baby etc at first. I missed DH but never felt like my care or recovery were compromised by not having his help, the staff were brilliant.
