Second section tomorrow and terrified!

Booked in for an ELCS tomorrow! DD1 was a planned section in April last year and DD2 who was originally due on 14th November but is measuring small is booked in for an elective section tomorrow!

I know what to expect, but I'm still absolutely terrified. What's scaring me the most is the feeling you get walking down the theatre, then the spinal, not the pain or anything but the anticipation.

I hope by this time tomorrow it's all over and I know it's 100% worth it, but I'm still so scared. Anyone who asks me about a section I always say I had such a positive experience first time around which I did and I always said I'd have another if we had more babies, but the fact I'm actually doing it... wow GrinShock

No advice as I’ve not had a section but I understand what you mean about the anticipation.
I’m awaiting the arrival of dc2 and the anticipation is the worst.
I’m sure it will all go fine though and this time tomorrow, you will have your lovely new addition.

Imisscheese · 27/10/2020 22:38

Good luck, you’ll be absolutely fine. I’ve had three, one emergency the rest planned. I know it can be nerve wracking but you’ll be absolutely fine. This time tomorrow you’ll have your beautiful baby! X

Good luck for tomorrow.

I remember being terrified of my second section. My first was an emergency so I didn't really have much time to prepare etc. I knew what to expect second time around but I was terrified of something going wrong.

It was all fine though.

I haven't had a section either but I have had 2 children close together and remember the anxiety feelings as my due date was getting closer

You're going to be fine @dillydallydollydaydream7 You've done this before. You're experienced! Tomorrow you will be a mum of 2!

❤️👊

I was exactly the r same. It’ll be fine. The staff were talking about their weekend doing my elcs-reassured me no end! Tell them how anxious you are when you get there-I was given iv sedative type thing to help.

Ah thank you all so much for taking the time out to reply Thanks it's so lovely of you all and it's really helped reading them! I'm so excited for her to be here, I'd just like to blink and the op bit be all over Grin waiting for labour must be terrifying so I admire you all who are doing that!

Last time I had students in (don't mind at all - we all have to learn somewhere) and they were chatting to one of them about not worrying if they fail assignments as they had and they can always be rectified etc which really calmed me down too as it was just like 'another day at the office' I also had a really chatty anaesthetist too which helped loads!

Thank you for all of your lovely comments - really helped me calm down. Cup of tea went down a treat and after 4 hours have feeling back in my legs which is great!

Congratulations! Try and take it easy whilst you can. I know the feeling well of wanting to be up and about as soon as possible (5 csections here) but look after yourself, relax and snuggle your little bundle of joy. 💐

KiposWonderbeasts · 28/10/2020 17:07

Huge congratulations! Look after yourself.

Haggisfish · 28/10/2020 17:19
