Anecdotal reserach :) Has anyone had gone overdue with first two and been induced then gone naturally with no 3?

I am preggo with number 3 and was induced at 42 weeks with both 1 and 2.

If I go over again this time I will refuse induction and have daily monitoring instead as I have a feeling I just cook babies a bit longer.

However, I was wondering if anyone else had been late for 1st (and2nd?) but then gone into spontaneous labour for the third?

No....but if it helps

I went 2 weeks over with my first and was booked in to be induced but during my initial checks on the day of induction it transpired I was in v early labour.

With DS, I was admitted for pre-eclampsia at 39 weeks. Had been in an out over a period of 3 weeks. When they finally decided to induce me and kept me in - 2 days in I was due to be induced, but, again, that day I went into labour on my own. So DS was born 39+5.

However, both labours were assisted with waters broken.

sil was induced for no 1 aand no 2, she went overdue with no 3 but went naturally (waters broke at home) with no 3. She much prefered the labour (went to midwife led unit as labour ward was busy, didnt have lots of exams etc.) baby was def overdue, wrinkly fingers no vernix but perfectly fine.

She had thought she couldnt go into labour after first two, but was very pleased with third labour.

my friend was induced with first 2, and had 3rd 2 weeks early...

I haven't done exactly that, BUT I had a section a week before dd with no 1 and then went into labour with the others at 10 days, 11 days and 17days over.

Number 2 resulted in section so there was no question of induction for 3 and 4, I was late as a baby so every chance that I would cook mine longer, which I do

My first was 3 weeks overdue before I was induced, my second 10 days overdue but then the placenta came away and she was starved of oxygen and died. So please be very careful about it.
I do think it depends on your cycle. They base it on a 28 day cycle so if yours is longer then maybe your due date is actually later than they predict
