When your first baby arrives and any subsequent delivery?

My waters broke at 38+4 with DC1 and delivered via EMCS at 39 weeks.

Am due DC2 soon and wondered if they might arrive early too!

There wasn’t for me. First arrived late on day I was booked to be induced.

Second arrived two weeks early.

Third had to be induced and last arrived a couple of days early.

Both my dd's arrived at exactly the same gestation ' 10 days overdue

First arrived 2 days early and second arrived 6 days early.

First was a week early, second was two days early and third was ten days overdue.

DC1 - 8 days late
DC2 - 7 days late
DC3 - 3 days early

Not for me,
DC1 4 days early
DC2 7 days late

Yes, for me, both (not dangerously) early with dramatic breaking-of-waters 😄

I think there can be a link with premature babies.
DD1 41 weeks + something I can’t remember
DD2 38+1

First babies are on average later (41 weeks gestation rather than 40 I think), but that doesn’t mean it will be the case for any individual.

If I count from start of labour, mine were 40+2, and DC2 due date exactly.

First at 42 weeks. Second at 38!

I think it might be more to do with the position of the baby.

DD1 5 hours before her due date.
DD2 on her due date ( shame she hasn't grown up as punctual! )

Mine got later & later & bigger & bigger.

All 4 of mine were induced to be over due, I am clearly a natural 43 weeker, I always had long menstrual cycles too - no idea if there is a link!

All of mine were premature, but each one managed to stay in a few weeks longer than the last. If I'd got to 38 weeks with any of them I would have felt late

DS was 6 weeks early (but almost 14 weeks early )

Apparently second babies move closer to the average, so if your first was premature your second is more likely to be later, and if your first was late your second is more likely to be earlier.
