Encouraging Labour

I’m currently 38+3wks and I have an induction booked in for my due date (25th) but has anyone got any tips on trying to get things to progress naturally. I know there isn’t any certainties as it’s when baby is ready but I was really hoping for a natural birth and the thought of induction if saddening but at the same time I am consenting to it because if I go too much over my due date it’s going to be filled with stress and anxiety which isn’t good for me or the baby.

Give me all your best tips! Been having sex (although I’m struggling to orgasm and can’t get myself there either), brought some dates today, been drinking raspberry leaf tea and spending time on my pregnancy ball.

Joining for responses, currently 40+3. DP refusing to have sex because the baby's head is right down in my pelvis and he thinks it's weird. Thanks pal.

I had my first at 42+1. I had tried pineapple, curry, red raspberry leaf tea, bumpy car rides, PIV sex, nipple stimulation and a sweep and ended up being induced by pessary. Second was spontaneous labour at 41+3. Third was 40+4. I'm sure there are good reasons for you to be induced at your EDD but for me that would have been strangely early to be concerned.

Also following this one!

My partner is also a bit freaked out by sex at the moment! I'm also on the raspberry leaf tea, spending time on my birthing ball and trying to walk as much as possible which isn't easy with PGP. I've ordered some clary sage oil and the week before my induction is scheduled I'll put a few drops in my bath!

Sex and nipple stimulation worked for me... my contractions started within the hour! Good luck Smile

Perineum massage, indigenous tribes in Africa use it to give to open up the birth canal and use it for a pleasurable birth,
Don't be surprised if you orgasm from it.

I tried everything and all it did was stress me out because I was obsessed waiting for something to happen every time I DTD or went on a walk or ate a curry etc.
Sorry!
