Hello all, so a bit of a personal thread but here it goes, ill try keep it short.. ☺
With my first child i hemorrhage and needed stiches (slightly tramatised lol) our plan was to wed then try for baby no. 2. Wedding has been prosponed to 2022, so with us not getting any younger we were going to try inbetween now and then. Dont want to leave it too close so kinda got to start trying now and hopefully it all goes ok. 🤞 The thing is i have granulation tissue from bad healing after second birth. I have been waiting 2 years on treatment. I finally got my first consultation for treatment then covid happened. The nurse said 4 to 6 weeks but its been ten weeks and i dont know if i should just wait and hope i get it treated soon are go ahead and try for a baby, then hopefully they will treat it. Tmi but it can be sore sometimes and rip/bleeds constantly so theres noway i could give birth naturally and it not cause problems, considering it was a big panick to stop the bleeding the first time i just cannot do that again, they just jept saying everythings ok when it clearly wasnt. I know thats nothing compared to what could happen 😔 and im not complaining im very lucky i know but i really want to try for another baby but i think its too risky untill this is treated. What does everyone think. Tmi ☺

Congratulations on your new arrival! Just wondering how you got on as I have scar tissue from my first birth and worried about future labour, I’m waiting for a referral to see a gynaecologist but the doctor mentioned an op to remove scar tissue so scared 😩 xx

20viona · 29/07/2021 10:48

@Anne8888 I had an op to remove internal scar tissue in January when my daughter was 18 months old. I can honestly say it's the best thing Iv done and it's totally changed my life/sex life/relationship with my husband.

It felt similar afterwards to having just given birth but I took it easy lots of days in bed and recovered brilliantly. You'd never know id had surgery.

Anne8888 · 29/07/2021 10:58

@20viona did they look at any other options before the surgery? I keep reading about silver nitrate, steroid cream etc.
Did they do the surgery under general? I’m soooo scared of being put to sleep 😩 I also bleed sometimes when I go to the toilet and wipe so I don’t know if the scar tissue is being irritated xx

I had an episiotomy with my first, then had granulation quite badly, couldn’t even sit down without it needing, had this cauterised with silver nitrate. Then had no 2, bad tear that never healed properly, was under gynae to have a repair when I fell pregnant with no3! I was advised to leave the repair and the issue may sort itself at delivery. Number 3 I had a first degree tear no stitches. Unfortunately I did have to go on and have the repair later

@Anne8888 yes I had general anaesthetic as a day case and the surgery itself it took about 45 mins.

So it was April 2020 when I went to the docs to push for referral to gynae. My apt got cancelled 6 times until December 2020- I had my surgery 2 weeks later! (It may have helped that I am a nurse and the gynaes daughter was a patient in my clinic 2 weeks previously).

I had a tight introitus and a thick band of internal scar tissues that nothing could get past TMI.

I didn't have granulation tissue I don't think. Externally everything looked fine previously it was just the physical aspect it was extremely tight, painful and ripped open during sex. I had an episiotomy with my daughters birth and the pain was all on the opposite side which was strange. She was only 5lb too Hmm.

Considering TTC #2 and am scared of undoing all this hard work!

Anne8888 · 29/07/2021 11:37

@20viona did they have to do an internal scan to check for the scar tissue inside? The doctor did a speculum and said everything looked fine on the inside but she could see scar tissue on the outside however I am convinced something is wrong inside because it feels SO tight and sex is really uncomfortable 😣

Awwww bless you - could you ask for a section considering what you went through with a vaginal birth? Xx

20viona · 29/07/2021 11:41

@Anne8888 no scans no.

I couldnt of asked for a more understanding gynae consultant. He did say that I will likely need an episiotomy again or he said he would offer me a c sec. I also had an awful manual removal of placenta so that's something to consider.

Have you seen a consultant yet?

Anne8888 · 29/07/2021 11:46

@20viona no I went to the doctors about 3 weeks ago and they said they would refer me but really behind with Covid so will be 3/4 months.

Did you ever bleed? I’m thinking of contacting the doctors again as it’s starting to worry me 😩 x

20viona · 29/07/2021 12:01

@anne888 Used to bleed after sex but it was the skin tearing not an internal
Bleeding. Hope you get sorted soon.
