How long till you started driving again? I'm nearly 2 weeks post op and feeling pretty active. I can manage 5k long walks and my wound isnt particularly painful unless I really prod it. Is driving after 3 weeks too soon do you think? I think I should be able to do an emergency stop by then.

I drove at three weeks post op after my youngest. My stomach did not thank me the next day.

Check with your insurance provider. If you driver before they "allow" you may find your policy is invalid. I checked with mine and was advised I could drive whenever I felt I was able

Make sure you check your insurance. I thought after a caesarean you couldn't drive for 6 weeks. (I also felt I could have driven from about 3 weeks).

Generally companies now say you can drive when you feel you are capable of performing an emergency stop. The six week rule was more to do with when cars didn’t have power steering so you couldn’t reliable handle it. Or so I’m told.

I didn’t drive until 7 weeks though.

3 weeks after and I was more than ready, I did call my midwife first to check it was okay and my insurance and it was all fine :)

Ahh fab. I called my insurance and they said as long as I feel comfortable .. I'm nearly two weeks post op now and I think I'll be ready very soon 🤗
