How did your contractions begin?

I'm 40+1 and have been having what I'd describe as period pains on and off since half 6 this morning. Definitely not consistent. Was having pains every 20 minutes ish until half 8 and then they stopped and since about 10.25 I've had two lots of pains. I'm wondering if it's braxton hicks or if I'm just in denial! I've been having braxton hicks since 30 weeks and have always found them painful, despite what is written on the NHS website.

Just been to the toilet and had red and pink blood on the tissue.

I'd give your midwife a call or your MAU now you've had what sounds like a show. You might be going into early labour.
Saying that I had this 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting! However I'm only 38+3 and your bubba is properly cooked!
Good luck! 💐💐

Sounds like the start of things to me. Ring the midwife line for more advice though. Always good to check.

Mine started as period pains, then a show and the pains became stronger. It sounds like you've started, it took awhile for me in both labours for things to speed up

They've been 5-7 minutes apart for most of the afternoon and I've lost my plug. Thanks for your input ladies!
