Second pregnancy - 40 + 2.

I’m absolutely sick of my life. Keep having inconsistent contractions that are on and off and I’m actually terrified I give birth at home

They were lasting less than a minute earlier every 2-4 mins then just tailed off to nothing. In fairness they weren’t ‘toe curling’ but I’ve had mild cramps on and off for WEEKS. Nobody told me second pregnancies were more complex

Proper shitting myself I’m not going to make it to hospital on time.

Any second/third etc labours been as painful as first I.e. the pain ramps up? I phoned delivery suite earlier when I was contracting but obviously I sounded like I was coping.... ugh this baby feels like it’s never coming. Honestly so sick of pains then nothing. There’s no consistency or pattern. It’s scaring me compared to first time where contractions just started, got stronger and went to hospital and that was that.

My second was like this. Lots of braxton hicks and false starts. My first was 0-60 super fast (whole labour was only 6 hours)

In the end I gave birth at 40+2 and my contractions started and progressed fast. Only 3 hours second time round

Wow. That’s interesting to know!! I really am not holding to much hope that’ll have baby today. I’ve literally woke up to nothing and have started to get contractions with a 30 minute gap.

I’m sat in the bath now to see if they’re legit

My second was far more painful than the first (sorry). But I think that's due to it being a LOT faster.

DC1 - waters broke on weds. Contractions started early hours of Thursday. Baby born Saturday lunch time. Established labour was about 17 hours but I was contracting long before that.

DC2 - started Contractions at about 8pm. Baby born at 10pm.
