FTM here, 39 + 5, have been feeling pretty good up until now (other than my feet very sore and swollen).

Yesterday a dull crampy ache started in my lower back, pretty similar to period pains, when I was lying down. This eases when I'm pottering about. I was quite crampy again through the night and steady cramps this morning!

I'm trying not to get too excited but I'm reckoning this could be the start of things?

Sorry I'm sure there are a million posts asking the same, and nobody will know for sure but any advice / similar experience??

I'm 37+5 and been like this since last Tuesday. I went to hospital as I was having contractions every 4 minutes and then it all went away. Started up again last Thursday and then nothing and then again this morning but still nothing!!!
Baby is really putting pressure on my pelvis today and is properly going for it with his movements, so I'm getting the odd contraction and serious period cramps and back pain!plus he feels super heavy today!
Basically I'm with you OP! I'm feel your pain! 😫😫😫

purplefig · 10/09/2020 12:52

It definitely could be! I had on and off cramps for several weeks before going into established labour.

Thanks for your replies 😘

Here's hoping something establishes for us soon @lockdownpregnancy!!

@Sunsage me too! I know it's still early, as I'm not 38 weeks until Sunday but I'm just so fed up now! Can barely do anything so just moving around my house and I hate it! Lol 🤪🤪

Sunsage · 11/09/2020 18:04

Aww no that's rubbish!

I've been okay until now, 40 weeks tomorrow and I'm just like yeap I am so ready for you to arrive baby lol feet are killing me all the time and can barely walk without feeling I need to pee 😂 fun fun times!!!!

Bless you @Sunsage I feel your pain!
I have every intention of being productive but 10 minutes in and I need a nap! 🤪
I had to put my car through the car wash earlier, as I haven't got it in me to wash it myself! Haha!

Sunsage · 12/09/2020 09:00

That's what car washes are for!! 😂

I had this for weeks and sadly it never came to anything. It’s so hard, but try to be patient!

Sunsage · 12/09/2020 19:10

Thank you @AllTheCakes I really am trying! At least I know now I'm on the final stretch!

You’re welcome. I couldn’t relax and was so impatient. I wish now I had enjoyed more naps and Netflix before baby came Grin Hope it all goes well for you.

lockdownpregnancy · 12/09/2020 20:59

@AllTheCakes I should be enjoying the down time as I know I certainly won't get any once baby gets here but my god I'm bored!
Naps and Netflix have been my life for the last 10 days. Because I had that 'episode' thinking it was go time I daren't drive anywhere on my own just in case something happens!
I'd usually go clothes shopping but I don't know what my size will be once I've had baby and no shoe shopping as my feet are swollen and don't know if they will go back to normal after baby!
I can't buy anything else for baby! He has so much already and he isn't even here yet!
Any ideas to pass the time that doesn't involve anything too knackering?

AllTheCakes · 13/09/2020 19:44

Maybe some audio books or reading? Have you done some batch cooking of easy to eat meals for when baby arrives?

lockdownpregnancy · 13/09/2020 21:07

@AllTheCakes I haven't done any batch cooking tbf and not really sure on what to cook as me and DH eat separately because he works funny shifts.
I suppose some spaghetti bolognaise or a portioned our lasagne probably wouldn't be a bad idea 🤔
I'm going food shopping tomorrow so I may do that actually 👍🏻
And if I start reading I fall asleep! 🤣🤣

AllTheCakes · 14/09/2020 12:41

That’s a good plan! Are you planning to breastfeed? I found with breast feeding the baby was latched on for what felt like all evening so meals I could eat with one hand were needed!

lockdownpregnancy · 14/09/2020 15:40

@AllTheCakes we are bottle feeding so at least if I'm making dinner DH can feed baby (if he isn't at work of course).
I'm not someone who makes or creates dinners, I'm very much I'll go with what's easy kinda gal, always have been.
However I know how important diet is, so I will do my beat to eat properly and healthy as I know I will need as much energy as I can get lol! 🤪
