Home birth, following retained placenta?

First birth, uncomplicated, other than retained placenta. Had to go to theatre for manual removal. Anyone had retained placenta more than once? Is that likely? I'm thinking of having a home birth. But not sure whether they will allow it because of the issue last time.

I had a retained placenta with DS1, I managed not to have to go to theatre but getting it out was mightily unpleasant and something akin to James Herriot doing something to a cow!
I then had DD and DS2 at home with no problems whatsoever, DS2 I didn't even get as far as having the injection to help out it. I asked my midwife during my second pregnancy if there was an increased risk of it happening again and she said it was just one of those things, just because it'd happened once didn't put me at higher risk.

I had a retained placenta after home birth with no 3. Manual removal (it was akin to someone rummaging around in her handbag!) was told I wasn't allowed a home birth for no 4. I didn't put up a fight. Quick in and out of hospital with her. All straightforward. Good luck.
