Intense pressure during induction - is this labour?

I'm currently in hospital being induced, had propess inserted about half past 9 this morning and am now having waves of really intense pressure like I need the toilet but nothing comes out. Mw said my cervix was very thin and favourable.

I'm not in any pain but the pressure is very hard to ignore and my belly is rock solid a lot of the time.

Anyone else had a similar experience? Is this the start of labour?

Sounds like it is.

I had the drip induction not pessary, but I didn't have contractions as such, just intense pressure in back passage/vagina area. It ramped up into waves/cramps when it was time to push.
