Bubble bath after birth?

Gave birth to DD 12 days ago and, as advised by the midwifes, have been showering or bathing daily to keep the area clean. I had an episiotomy, stitches checked by midwife today at our check up and they’re healing well. However she’s now discharged us out to the HV & GP and I completely forgot to ask when it’s ok to use bubble bath? At the moment when I bathe I’ve been either doing it in plain water or lavender oil but I’m dreaming of a proper bubble bath and DH has promised me baby free time for a soak when I feel ready! Would just be Radox or something, nothing too full on...

Have googled but there’s a lot of conflicting advice, does anyone happen to know? While they’re healing well, stitches obviously haven’t dissolved and I still have lochia (although I wouldn’t avoid a bubble bath if I had my period so I guess that’s less of an issue maybe?) Smile

Never occurred to me not to use bubble baths Smile

I just used the babys bubble bath for 4 weeks, then I switched to mine and have been using without issue the past 3 weeks. I just dint want anything to heavily perfumed or fragrances round the episiotomy x

Baby’s bubble bath! That’s genius @NelliePig - thank you for the inspiration Smile also thanks for the reassurance @icebubbles... I’m probably being a bit over cautious but just terrified of picking up an infection or something.

It actually worked super well as she loved coming in the bath with me. My partner hands her to me when I'm in and takes her before I get out and she loves kicking and floating around! Then we wash her, dad takes her to get changed, I top the water up and a bit and then enjoy my bath lol :)

Badedas was always said to be good for you post partum on account of the horse chestnut or something. Anyway, it's green, smells amazing and caused me no problems.
