Is this a sign labour is getting close?

I am 40+5 weeks and booked for an induction in a weeks time, which I truly hope I won’t need.
Last night I woke-up with a period like pain that lasted a couple of hours. I thought that was it but then it stopped. I had mild period pain throughout pregnancy every now and then but this time it was strong enough to wake me up and lasted longer. I am hoping this is the beginning of the latent phase of labour and that DC will be here soon.
Did any of you experience something similar befoere the “real deal”?

Funnily enough the day my waters broke I had been woken up and kept awake between 4-6am with an awful period like pain, waters broke 10pm that night, mind i was 36 weeks 🙈 I really hope this is it for you though 🤞

Yes I had period pains starting on the Tuesday night. They stopped Wednesday day time, started again on the Wednesday night and my little boy was born at 9am on the Thursday morning at 9am Smile

Also just to add I had no 'show', I lost my mucus plug well in to labour and my waters broke just a couple of hours before I gave birth
