Hi
I wanted to ask if anyone has delivered privately, either C-section or vaginally at King's College Hospital?
What was your experience like? Which consultant did you have and would you recommend them?
There is not much information online, so any information you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

My consultant now works there, I believe, Sadia Bhatti? I had an elective c-section at the Kensington Wing. She worked with a male colleague, Nick but I can't remember his surname and I think he did work at King's, due to the high risk nature of the pregnancy. The fees were affordable, and the treatment was good. Personable, not driven by their own philosophies on childbirth. I wanted a c-section, I wanted to bottle feed, I wanted privacy. None of this was questioned, and I found the experience very respectful of my preferences. I don't live in the UK, and they integrated their care seamlessly with my consultants here.

As the facilities are a different location, a review of those probably isn't very helpful. I believe we paid about £11k, if you want to compare the prices, but we had a lot of additional items and did the whole process there.

Hi,

I can see your response was recent @sergeilavrov.. I have also booked Sadia from 28 weeks package. Did you deliver at Kings hospital? If so, how were the hospital services? Was you able to have a partner stay overnight? Also did you book any additional services apart from what is in the package? I hope you are able to respond!

Hi @Patricia256 - I'm also considering this package - do you mind sharing your experiences of the hospital and care (assuming you have now had your baby?) Thanks very much

Was the 11k price mentioned above inclusive of everything including anaesthetist and consultant, I wonder?

@Firsttimemom2be @Patricia256 I only recently discovered that Kings even does private maternity, so curious to know how your experience was? I'm thinking of booking a private birth from 34 weeks as I'm a bit fed up with our local NHS experience. TIA!

Bumping this thread to know if anyone has used the private delivery services at Kings (Dulwich Suite), even if just to pay for a private room?

I booked for private delivery at Kings but my little one is not due until Oct. Keen to hear other experiences as it seems the consultants also deliver at Chelsea and Westminster and I might decide to switch before delivery

I would not touch Kings College with a barge pole. Dreadful place. The gynae department is a complete mess. I had a problem, had a biopsy, and got a text from the lab to say I was cancer free, back to your GP. Three weeks later, I got a phone call. Ooh it may be cancer after all. They did a hysteroscopy, got the all clear. Then a month later, ooh we need to do another hysteroscopy. Then got a call out of the blue 4.45 on a Friday, the booking clerk said, you need an urgent MRI on Monday. The dr had ordered it but not had the impetus to call me, to explain why. I was told at the MRI they weren’t permitted to say why it had been requested. A month later I was chasing results of that. After emailing and phoning, I got a call 6 weeks after MRI saying I needed urgent surgery. That has now been cancelled because of the strike. And the new date I had been given has been cancelled again due to a backlog because of the strike. My anxiety levels are through the roof. DO NOT choose Kings.
