Is labour close? Engagement and labour signs

So at my midwife appointment yesterday (38+4) the midwife said he was pretty engaged and she could only feel his shoulders above my public bone because he was so low down

I’ve been losing what I think are parts of my mucus plug since it’s different to my usual discharge and been going to the toilet (for both #1&#2) a lot more frequently. I’ve felt sick on and off all day and my appetite is a lot less than usual, and I feel generally off in my body.

Does this mean labours close? I’m so fed up of being pregnant in this heat and with having SPD and numerous other uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms like vulvar varicosities I really just want my little boy here now. I’ve been diffusing clary sage oil, walking and having sex to try speed things up but I’m so inpatient now

I’m booked in for a sweep in two weeks, but I really want him out before then at this point

Anyone have any experience in how long it might be or how long it was for you after experiencing these things?

It could be tomorrow or it could be 3 weeks, sorry.
Best to have your bags packed & try to ignore it until you can't ignore it any more.

Day before i had DD, i felt very similar. I didnt want to eat and i was sick just before bed. I also went to bed 1.5- 2 hours earlier than i normally would of, my waters leaked 2 hours later. That was ultimately all the sleep i had for 24 hours. I had been really restless in the days leading up to it aswell, not knowing what i wanted to do/sit/eat.

Just be careful not to symptom spot or get your hopes up because it will make this end process much longer and more difficult.
I was told baby was low down every time from about 32 weeks. Every one was adamant he was coming early. My cervix was favourable. I had signs such as diahhrea etc. He came at 40+7 🙃

I’ve been feeling like this since 34 weeks OP (37 weeks tomorrow). Baby has been fully engaged since then. I’m walking around like John Wayne fully expecting my water to break at any second because of all the pressure.

I’m hoping I do go into labour as then I will have no choice but to have my section - I’m dreading having to turn up and wait for it on the day!
