Help after c-section - what to ask for?

Due in a month, will have my mum and partner there (him for first two weeks, her long as I need). Wondering what sort of help did other people need in the first month or so after a section?
I'd like to be able to say, okay, I'll probably need help with x,y,z. I have a five year old too, so anyone with similar experience would be helpful. Also, when roughly did you start having visitors?

It's such a hard question to answer - I was up and about very quickly and could do pretty much everything for myself other than unload the dishwasher. We had both families visit in hospital on the day of the section and then people came most days for the next week or so. I cooked dinner for me and DH the day after my section and walked to the supermarket solo the following day.

Mostly ask people to entertain your 5 year old - school run help for instance, getting out the door is hard so morning help is useful (eg I walked my neighbours dd to school for a couple of weeks after she had her lo. Otherwise some people like help with meals but I'm a complete control freak in the kitchen so was back cooking after 4 days.

First few days, someone to do the house stuff (cleaning, cooking, putting washing away) and be there for the eldest while you're stuck on the sofa feeding. After that it'll just be as much as you need to manage two kids!
