Groin pain before labour

I have experienced on and off groin pain since about 30 weeks- I am now 38 weeks, it's got noticeably worse, there is a continuous ache down there, could this be the start of labour? Or just baby moving down? ( I was 3/5 engaged at 36 wks).

Sounds like SPD to me. I’ve suffered with it from around the same point. It’s horrible and painful, especially when turning in bed.

Agree - this sounds like PGP/ SPD. It may have flared up because your baby is lower in pelvis (and heavier)? There is advice on nhs website about the sorts of movement to avoid. My midwife said it should go after birth (I'm only 31 weeks so this feels like a loooong way away!)
