Never going into labour? 40+6 today

I’m 40+6 today and feel that this baby is never getting out. I’m due for an induction at 40+9 and really dreading it. I would love some hope that everything is still possible. I have tried most things (acupuncture, reflexology, raspberry leaf, sage, sex, floor cleaning, spinning babies...) but now gave up and loosing hope. I know it’s all irrational but would love to hear your experience...

I’m 40+5 and feel the same!!! Sad Induction booked for next Sunday! X

My first was 12 days late - I had a spontaneous labour and natural delivery. Perfectly possible.

I've twice started labour the evening before I was due to be induced because I was overdue (41+6)
The third time I went over again and went into labour 2 days before my induction (41+5)
Good luck

You've plenty of time to go into labour but I do sympathise, no time crawls like the time after your due date!

40 weeks is really just a guide. Anything up to 42 weeks is considered absolutely normal. I know it doesn’t help but being ‘overdue’ is more common than not so please don’t stress about it! Is there a medical reason for induction at 40+9? Could you discuss waiting a few more days if it’s something you really don’t want?

My first arrived on due date. My second was 14 days late (21 years ago). Labour started and completed on the day induction was booked for. I feel for you in this heat!

I ended up with broken waters and contractions at 41+4 and he was born in early hours of 41+6 :) xxx
