How to dissolve stitches faster?

My stitches (3rd degree tear) are really pinching and pulling. 4 weeks pp now and really thought they'd be gone by now! Anything I can do to dissolve them quicker since I assume they've done their job by now? Thanks

Mine were really sore and pulling. I'm 11 weeks pp now. What I found helped was getting a shower and bending over so the water ran down my back and then onto the stitches or a bath. Water dissolves them quicker. Think they went around 6 weeks x

Thanks! I'll try the bath. I don't suppose you or anyone knows if the doctors can do anything about it? Like take them out?! They feel so strange and sore especially after walking a long distance.

One side of my section wound really pinched whenever I lifted my leg and I found it very painful. A nurse at my GP surgery removed them for me at about 5 weeks post op as it was also starting to get red and irritated.
