C section postpartum bleeding

I had my baby on the 30th June, bled until 5th July then just had a small amount (size of 2p piece) old brown blood for about 3/4 days. I’m now 13 days down the line and have started bleeding again. It’s red/brown blood but more red just not bright red and I’ve had to change my pad twice this morning. I wouldn’t say it’s a lot of blood but similar to the first few days of bleeding. Definitely not what I expected as I’ve not bled all week. I’ve just changed my pad again and the blood is more brown but still a fair amount (maybe covering about 10cm of the pad). Is it normal to bleed after I’d stopped for so long. The only thing I can think of is I’ve been doing more around the house and went for a walk yesterday so maybe it’s that. Not sure if it’s all normal or if I need to speak to a midwife ( not been discharged yet as baby lost a lot of birth weight)
TIA for advice :)

I bled for about 6/7 weeks some days heavy some days not much. Anytime I moved or did stuff I definitely bled a lot more, I didn’t have downtime after so I think that’s why I bled for so long. Then it stopped for about 5 days and my period started.
It could be that.

Hi OP, my bleeding was always heavier on days I’d been more active and it lasted for around six weeks. I had to carry baby in the car seat in to the midwife at around three weeks and remember it being particularly bad and really shocking me but it was purely caused by the physical exertion (and honestly just being upright as opposed to lying in bed with baby and biscuits!)

Thank you both. Feel a lot better now I’ve heard about your experiences. It definitely eased off by the end of the day so I think it’s because I’m more active. X

I found my bleeding was on/off after both my sections and I bled more on days when I breastfed more as it makes the womb contract
