Induction stories

I’m 41w tomorrow. I’m due to be induced.
FTM - so pretty nervous about the induction.
I had my 2nd sweep on Wednesday gone. The midwife seemed pretty confident I wouldn’t last till Monday, but here I am. I was 2cm dilated. Effaced. She could poke the baby’s head. She seemed pretty sure all was well.
Friday & Saturday, I had a show. Passing this in bits. I have a lot pressure down below at times. I’ve had the occasional crampy pain but nothing more painful then a wind type pain.
Has anyone got any stories of a quick-ish, simple induction for a FTM?

Il try! Induced at 37 weeks due to small baby and I was a FTM too.
2 pessarys 6 hours apart got me to 3cm with minimal pains. Waters broken by ARM and baby born 2 hours later.

I went in for an induction at 2cm dilated. They broke my waters manually at 3cm after just one lot of gel. I then gave birth within 2 hours 40 mins. No tears or interventions such as forceps. Did the whole thing on gas and air despite a back to back baby!

Induced at 39 weeks - also a FTM. Baby born within 3 hours of starting the pessary.

Induced at 40+12. Had the pessary put in mid afternoon, felt absolutely nothing until my first contraction in the early hours. Contractions came thick and fast from then on and baby was born in the morning. Had the dreaded drip for the last couple of hours (didn't find it made any change to the intensity of the contractions by that point) and did it all on gas and air. 18 hours from pessary going in to baby coming out.

I wouldn't be concerned if I needed to have another induction in future. Good luck!

Thank you. I’m absolutely terrified. Induction is my worst nightmare. Heard so many horror stories. X

Try not be terrified it's exciting! You're going to finally meet your baby!

Induced due to pregnancy induced hypertension.

Had the balloon for 24 hours, then ARM and straight on the drip. Had an epidural after 14 hours around 6cm, then baby born via forceps 8 hours later, which was because she was stuck (shoulder dystocia).

About 22 hours from ARM to baby. I don't really think the drip was as bad as some stories made it out to be.

Thinking of you OP. It'll be fine!

Drip at 12pm, really started to feel contractions around 3pm and baby was here less then 2 hours later. It was fast and intense but the best thing is you get a baby at the end of it.
