Preparing for C Section BEFORE pregnancy

My next baby will be delivered via c section due to a difficult vaginal birth previously. Is there any thing I can do to prepare my body BEFORE I even get pregnant? Such as does having strong stomach muscles make it easier to recover?

You’re over thinking this.

The c section will be fine. You can’t prepare for it other than mentally accept that it’s happening.

Take all the painkillers they give you and get up and about as soon as it’s possible, keep moving, you’ll be absolutely fine.

I think it's genetic/luck.

I was a rather unhealthy (morning sickness, anemia and losing my dad at six months pregnant) almost 41 years old when dc2 was delivered by emcs. I walked out of hospital 24 hours later feeling a bit weepy but otherwise fine. No painkillers beyond what I was given in theatre, went out for lunch the following day and was back walking 3 miles a day pushing the pram by the end of week 2.

I did a lot of pilates and I walked a lot so might be worth trying those but far fitter friends found it much harder to recover, which brings me back to luck and genetics.
