Hi all,

Had my second attempted sweep yesterday, MW said no joy as my cervix was still very high.
Since early this morning I’ve been having what could be contractions between 7-12 minutes apart, but they don’t last for a full minute. Probably about 30 seconds.
I’ve also had a bit of red blood when wiping and a bit of brown, but no ‘mucus’ as people describe. So I’m very confused.
MW said to just keep an eye on it.

So should contractions be closer to a full minute, she has anyone had a show without lots of mucus?

Thank you!

My plug going was very mucus-y and most of it came out in a big chunk, although some people say there's is more gradual.

However my contractions never got to the stage that they want them to be at before you go in (I had a relatively quick labour) so if I hadn't have over exaggerated the amount of blood loss then I doubt they'd have told us to come in, and my baby was born less than 2 hours later. That said I definitely knew that I was in labour and the baby was coming soon, maybe you're in the early stages? Some people I know had that for days before it ramped up, and then at the hospital for ages before delivery too.

Sorry, meant to say that my contractions never got to beyond 30 seconds ish but they were a lot more frequent than the 3 in 10 that they "want" you to have before going in.
