Just a quick question...

Having a section there in a couple of Months.

Are the post natal beds on wards (and if they are, are they 4 bed, 6 bed?) or do they have private rooms or even private rooms you can hire?

I’ve only been there a couple of times and the consultants don’t seem to want to answer my questions on it (I don’t see midwives there as I have a private one, I won’t be going there again until it’s time to give birth).

Thought I’d try here to see if anyone had experience seeing as they don’t seem to want to tell me. Only things I can see online are about the newish birth centre suites which obviously don’t apply to me with an ELCS.

From memory (6 years ago) they are 6 or 8 beds on the wards I was moved to a private room shortly after I arrived on. The post natal ward as my baby was in NICU and it was upsetting for me in the ward. Not sure if you can hire them and this post wasn’t much help but didn’t want to read and run.

6 to 8 beds! Christ on a bike.

The hospital I had Dd in had two bed wards and that was bad enough with the woman next to me and her Dh having all night phone calls to friends!

Dreading it now.
