Is it normal for the bleeding to restart after 6 weeks?

I gave birth 6 weeks ago. The bleeding completely stopped around 4 weeks ago or so. Over the past few days, I have had intermitten brown and red spotting/bleeding. Could it be the remaining of the post partum bleeding? I am combi feeding, so dont think it would be the period?

if you aren't exclusively breast feeding then yes it could be your period. Some peoples periods return even when only breastfeeding too

My periods restarted in that time frame. Ebf too. Felt cheated! Hope you're OK. If you're at all worried, call your gp or midwife.

I had this and was constantly breastfeeding and it was my period. I went to the doctors convinced something was very wrong but apparently periods can come back even when you are (cluster) breastfeeding

i was looking forward to some respite from periods whilst breastfeeding..but no. Bang on time I got my period around 5 - 6 weeks later.

Oh good (or is it?). I just had a chat with my GP yesterday- a 6 week check over the phone (hehe) and didnt mention it, and now the next time Im gonna see them will not be until in a few weeks time, so was kicking myself for not bringing it up as I forgot!
If it's period it's all good, although would have loved not to see it for a few more months!

I'm combi feeding but about 90% bf and my periods have returned. I think normally it is about 6 weeks after as well.

I had a period st exactly six weeks despite exclusively breastfeeding.

I've exclusively BF all of mine and my period returned immediately after pp bleeding.

I started my period 6 weeks after giving birth and was exclusively breastfeeding.

My periods are like clockwork. Both returned 4 weeks to the day after two births and I was breastfeeding!
