Hiya so I'm now 38+4 with baby number 3. Was admitted to hospital yesterday for induction. They used the 24 hour pessary which has now been in about 14hours. After about 8 hours the pain I was getting was hard to deal with they examined me just incase I had dilated but although midwife said cervix was soft it was still quite long and baby head too high. She ended up giving me codeine and paracetamol that didn't touch the pain followed by diamorphine which was amazing although pain was still there it seemed to really take edge off. Anyhow after 5 hours she gave me codeine again to try to keep up with pain relief which must have worked as I fell asleep and just woke up. Thing is I've woken up and now no pains or very mild. Can this be normal or does it mean any good the pessary had done will have now been reversed or stopped ?
