Pessary induction

So I've been admitted to hospital today for induction (I'm 38+3) I couldn't have the balloon as the midwife said baby head was too high so would have been a waste of time. So they have inserted the 24 hour pessary. Has anyone had this before and had any positive outcome? I should add this is baby number 3 but first induction. The midwife did a sweep yesterday and today when I was admitted she examined me and said my cervix is a little soft but not soft enough hence the pessary. Really hoping when they remove it tomorrow they say they can break my waters or even better would be going in to labour before that lol.

I had one for my second labour. I had the drip in the first. I can't say it went well but it was because I have hypersensitivity to the induction drugs so within 20 mins of the pessary my TOCO was off the chart and I was having severe contractions 20 seconds apart for hours which did nothing and just distressed baby. So my advice is that if you think things are going too strong and too quick get them to REALLY look at the observation output and question whether hypersensitivity could be an issue.
