Best to postpone maternity leave?

I am almost 35 weeks, was due to go on mat leave at 36 weeks (25th June) but I have been furloughed since March and will be furloughed until my mat leave starts. Do you think it would be best to ask my boss to postpone my mat leave until I'm about 39 weeks instead since it means I will get a few more weeks with my baby at the end of the leave?

Definitely! I've arranged with my boss for my maternity leave to now start the day the baby is born (instead of 2 weeks before as I had planned ore-covid) that way I will now get all my maternity leave for when she is here.
