38 weeks requesting cesarian

I'm 38+1 and have been under a consultant for a couple of minor heart conditions that I have. I'm supposed to have seen a cardiologist to decide if I am able to give birth naturally and if so what the midwives/doctors need to be looking out for. However I haven't seen the cardiologist yet, I have been reminding everyone I have seen at each appointment and they say they will chase it up but haven't. I had an appointment last Monday over the phone with a doctor from antenatal clinic who was panicking that I haven't seen a cardiologist and told me I would hear from one ASAP (I haven't)
I have a midwife appointment tomorrow at my doctors surgery so I'm going to bring it up with her but I now have severe anxiety about going into labour spontaneously without anything being sorted and I'm wondering whether I would be able to ask for a cesarian? I would rather not have one but I feel too scared to give birth naturally now ☹️

Firstly, due date twin :)
Secondly, I'm so sorry that you have had no correspondence at all. Do you know the hospital/ cardiologist you have been referred to? I am also under cardiology and had to do some chasing myself at the beginning of the pregnancy by calling their secretary myself to get appointments sorted etc. Might be worth trying to do that? I'd also reiterate to your midwife that you are worried tomorrow and see if they can set up an appointment with you to see the obstetric team to discuss c section.
Completely understand your anxiety - you have been really let down.

@thosethreewords woohoo, due date twins! Congratulations 😊

I know the name of the cardiologist who I'm supposed to be seeing because I was under his care a couple of years ago but I have no idea of his contact number or his secretary's number. I'm hoping my midwife will be able to call someone tomorrow for me and have it arranged! It seems like they don't listen to me.
You mentioned you are under a cardiologist aswell, are you able to deliver baby naturally? I feel I'm cutting it fine for a cesarian though as aren't they usually performed at around 38 weeks when planned? I'm just getting so nervous as the time is getting closer! I've lost my trust in them a bit.

@chocolate26 sorry I didn't see your reply until now. I got the secretary's number from ringing the hospital switchboard and asking to be put through to them. Otherwise it is usually written on any letters/ correspondence you may have from before.
C sections can be performed at any time I think they try and do them electively for 39 weeks so you might be ok 👌 but it depends on the indication for them.
I'm having to be induced this weekend if I don't go naturally before as one of my cardiology issues is high BP. It was always going to be the case I'd be induced 38-39 weeks but it's crept up over the last week so now I am glad that she's coming sooner than 40 weeks!
