Hi
I’m a few weeks off having my 4th section, 5th baby. I delivered my first naturally and Ended up be an emergency section for my second as heart rate kept dipping as I was pushing. I opted for a vbac for my third but ended up having an emergency with GA as they couldn’t find his heart beat. With my 4th I was determined to have a vbac but I had to fight for one. Unfortunately it did end in an emergency csection as the consultant who was really against me having one came on shift and baby was delivered 30 minutes later (apparently my scar was too tender) I haven’t pushed for a vbac this time as it was hard enough getting one last time. Part of me would like one but I do worry about uterine rupture so just went with the professionals. I’ve also had pre eclampsia in all 5 pregnancies by 39 weeks another reason I’ve just agreed to a section. I saw a specialist with my third and she was fab, really encouraging but she made me feel so confident I didn’t switch hospitals - maybe things would have been different if I had. Good luck with whatever you choose :)

Can I ask both how were you with multiple sections and how far invetween? I have just had third 6 months ago others were 16/11 years but am keen to have baby quick (last one) but worried as had rough time and even though recovered well starting to have sore and pain in lower tummy x

@babynunber3
There was 7 years between 1st and 2nd sections but like you we wanted one last baby close in age (mainly so all the big bulky baby stuff was out of the house as quickly as possible). I fell pregnant 5 months after my 2nd c section so there’s a 13 month gap between the youngest two. We thought we were finished but I’ve always wanted 6 children and couldn’t get past not having anymore so here we are nearly 5 years on with baby number 5 due in a few weeks 🙈

@Itsgottobethisone everything ok? I'm worried about the usual rupture thing! But been having lot of pain lately more a ache it seems to be when pressure on lower abdomen like sitting up in bed (not on settee thou) dunno if caus legs are up in bed , strange so worried of am preg (baby6 month ) have suspicion I am! I worry also bled in recovery (through wound) pressure dressing sorted but then had secondary PPH two weeks after at home so I'm desperate for another baby bit lately been very worried don't want to leave my babies cx

@babynunber3 yes so far so good. The only time I have scar pain is when direct pressure is out in it (especially when midwife feels for baby’s head) I’ve had the odd bout of burning sensation just to the right of my belly button which could apparently be adhesions from previous sections. Although they advised for a 4th section due to the risk of scar rupture they consultants seem very chilled out about it. They can’t get me in for a section at 39 weeks so are looking at 39plus 4 (although I’ve kicked up a fuss as don’t really want to risk natural labour) and said if I do go in to labour I’ll have time to get to hospital for my section. It’s crazy as I live 45 minutes away and if my scar ruptured me and the baby would be in danger. They just don’t aren’t gay concerned it will happen. 🙈
I think I may have felt some pulling on my scar when I first became pregnant with my 4th. (Just had a flash back) so it was a bit achey. Healed really well after section but didn’t the time before that as my wound was infected. I had a PPH after my first but all in all everything has gone well and I’ve felt safe.

Hey I know this thread is old. But how did your 5th section go? I've had 4 and really really want a 5th (last baby) all my other sections have gone straight forward no complications. Thanks ladies
